The opportunity
As our Trainer – Childcare (Learning Assessor), you will play a crucial role in guiding learners to develop their skills, confidence, and professional knowledge in the workplace. You’ll work closely with students and employers to help learners achieve their goals, providing hands-on support and ensuring they gain the practical experience needed to succeed in the childcare and health sectors. A significant focus of this role will involve working extensively with our T Level in Education and Early Years pathway, contributing to the development of future professionals in this essential field.
In this role, you will spend the majority of your time in the workplace, assessing learners' progress against the key learning outcomes for their qualifications. By carrying out detailed and meaningful assessments, you’ll ensure learners meet the standards required while helping them build the skills and confidence they need to excel. You’ll manage a caseload of learners, developing strong relationships with local employers to secure impactful placements that enhance students’ learning experiences.
You’ll also create and regularly review individual learning plans, tailoring your approach to meet the needs of each learner. By delivering practical skills training and providing personalised guidance, you’ll equip students to apply their knowledge effectively in real-world settings. You’ll take responsibility for developing work-based assessment materials, conducting assessments, and ensuring all activities align with awarding body requirements. Internal verification and quality assurance will also form part of your role, ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.
Additionally, you’ll provide one-to-one guidance and connect learners with specialist services where necessary, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment. As part of your work with the T Level pathway, you’ll play a significant role in preparing learners for their future careers by helping them navigate challenges and grow into skilled, confident professionals.
