The opportunity
Finance isn’t boring at Barnsley College.
We have a strong finance team that are vital cogs in managing income and expenditure for each department and across the college. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance.
The finance department provides a high-quality financial service to the whole of the College. The team consists of 16 staff of which 5 focus significantly on the management account function of the department. We aim to provide excellent customer service and offer prompt and high-quality financial support to our internal and external stakeholders, whilst maintaining good controls and enforcing compliance with the College’s financial regulations.

About you
You will have two years of experience in a management accounting role, preparing management accounts and overseeing most of the management information. You’ll thrive in a team setting, effectively delegating tasks to ensure accounts are prepared within the monthly reporting deadlines. With a solid understanding of accounting software and strong spreadsheet skills, you’ll contribute significantly to the team. Additionally, you will have the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire staff both within your department and across the college.
